This aftermarket automatic manual parking brake cable is manufactured and used exclusively for CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD, GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2001-2005 and can be used as a replacement for the original hand brake cable. It has been tested to match the fit and performance of the original parts, and all our control cables are tested and pre-tensioned before delivery to ensure the pull-off force at the end of the cable.

Parking brake adjustment: first loosen the parking brake lever to the limit position, remove the clamping bolt at the end of the rocker arm, remove the rocker arm, stagger one or several teeth counterclockwise, and re-adjust the adjustment of the pull rod nut until there is 3-5 "clicks" of travel when pulling the parking brake lever, the lever feels visibly hard, and the car stops as technically required. Here's more about the parking brake:

1. The parking brake usually refers to the manual brake installed on the motor vehicle, referred to as the handbrake, which is used to stabilize the vehicle after the vehicle is stopped, and avoid accidents caused by slipping when the vehicle is parked on a slope road. The common handbrake is generally placed in the drooping position of the driver's right hand, which is easy to use. At present, some automatic transmission models on the market are equipped with a foot brake with the same function as the handbrake on the outside of the driver's left foot, and some advanced models are also equipped with an electronic parking brake system.

2. When applying the parking brake, press down on the brake pedal and pull out the parking brake lever all the way up. To release the parking brake, press down on the brake pedal, pull the parking brake lever up slightly, press the button on the handle end with your thumb, and lower the parking brake lever to its original position.

3. For cars equipped with automatic transmission, be sure to apply the parking brake first, and then move the gear lever to the "P" (parking) position. When parking on an incline, if you shift into the "P" position before applying the parking brake, the weight of the body will make it difficult to shift out of the "P" (park) gear when you are ready to start the car.
