The hand brake, that is, the parking brake cable, is of the cable type. Generally, it acts on the rear wheels. The wire from the cab to the rear axle under the chassis is pulled. This wire is obviously different from the wire and looks like a bicycle brake wire.
The foot brake is the service brake. Nowadays, all cars are finished with hydraulic oil, so there is only the oil circuit. The position of the oil circuit on the chassis is very concealed and safe, just a few oil pipes. The brake pump that provides hydraulic pressure is in the engine room, and there are a lot of oil pipes (usually 5 to 6) side by side, which are easy to distinguish. Generally, the handbrake line of trucks and large vehicles is installed on the parking hub behind the transmission and in front of the transmission shaft; for cars and small vehicles, it is usually installed on the left and right rear wheels from the cab.
If the car handbrake cable needs to be replaced, you need to go to the car's 4S shop or repair shop to replace it. Do not replace it yourself to avoid damaging the handbrake parts of the car.
The car handbrake is regarded by drivers as the last safety barrier, but when the handbrake is used too frequently, its efficiency will be reduced and accidents may occur. In many cases, the handbrake has already been applied, but due to system failure or improper use, it cannot function as it should. This is also a major hidden danger of accidents. Therefore, car owners should conduct regular maintenance and inspections of the handbrake.
Follow this step if necessary: ① Turn the inner adjustment knob clockwise with your fingers or T-25 wrench until the disc is in the center of the caliper. ②Start the next installation from this position and make sure that the CPS screws are loose enough so that the calipers can move freely. ③Pinch the brake lever and compress the brake pad tightly on the disc.
