In order to keep your car's hood safely closed while you are driving, a latch is used. Since the hood latch does not have an external release device, a hood release cable is used.
The cable passes through the engine compartment from the front of the hood, and finally reaches the rear pedal of the hood latch release device located under the steering wheel on the driver's side foot and above the brake and accelerator.
Ideally, your hood release cable will last the life of the car, but the hood latch release cable may break at any time.
The second most common fracture location is the latch on the front of the car. Normally, the cable will slip out of reach, or a break will make the cable too short for use.
Replacing it requires a lot of labor and expertise to route the cable from the latch to the release handle. If your hood release cable is damaged, please have one of our professional mechanics replace it.
If you encounter the following conditions, you need to replace the hood release cable:
There is no resistance when pulling the hood release device in the cabin
Pulling the release handle will not open the hood
You can’t pull the release handle at all.
Huafeng cable is the hood release cable manufacturer. If your hood release cable is damaged, please purchase the same model of cable immediately for replacement.
